Thank you, and the pōhutukawa have been particularly glorious this year. For the first time, I saw a pale yellow one flowering along our road in Titirangi.

Such joyful trees. I do like to see a yellow one for a contrast. There was one around the corner from me in Wellington, but the owners cut it down. Still, it's resprouting.

Thanks SO much for writing about a Christmas tree. I LOVE these trees. We have plenty of them here. They grow well in southern California climate and people appreciate how beautiful they are.

More importantly, it is a summer tree!

Christmas in Aotearoa is irrelevant to seasonality.

We are losing touch with nature’s rythms.

I love pōhutukawa. Our trees bloomed a few weeks ago and we were blessed with tūī making it their home. They have now moved on to redder pastures. Merry Christmas and happy new year Melanie
