From what I've read, they have been experimentally infected with mild forms, but I'm not sure about dangerous forms of bird flu or the specific strain spreading right now.
🥹 one more thing to worry (and feel helpless!) about ... But I would rather know than it sneak up on me, so thanks for the backgrounders. 🤞🤞🤞 that there is something in the Aotearoa situation that helps to minimise it in the threatened species or we might have to employ drones with dart guns to vaccinate 🤷 (joking of course...)
