There was concern for a while that it it would become a major problem in dairy herds and spread to farm workers, many migrants. Farmers were reluctant to report symptoms or allow testing. Our state Department of Health, based on experience during COVID, set up a Spanish language text channel so that workers could report directly. That is what it's come to.
Thanks Christine. Next week I'm taking a risk lens to it, doing a wider survey of the birds which have been affected and what that can tell us about what to expect in Australia and New Zealand. I think that the bad news is that it may be quite unpredictable.
