Interesting, thanks Melanie. Perhaps a strategy with the wattle could be to harvest the seed pods before they're ripe, like with a pole pruner and leave them to mulch on the ground? Depends on the density of course, but I've seen that plant dominate and you don't want it spreading.

Thanks Alan. The plants are fairly inaccessible on a steep slope, but fortunately there's nowhere it's likely to spread from where it is except for the area where we are monitoring for seedlings and removing them. In time, that area will have a native canopy and be fairly resistant. It can certainly get bad in some areas though and if the regeneration was at an earlier stage, I'd probably want to get on top of it.
