This is great! No need to apologize for the lack of a "proper" article, I always enjoy seeing original photos and reporting (formal or informal) from exotic locales :-)

Sounds like you're having a wonderful trip! Your mention of coffee resonated as I'm drinking not coffee, but a related beverage - Kenya Kangaita tea - my favorite black tea.
It sounds like a fascinating trip, Melanie. I am impressed with their stance on single-use plastics - we could learn a lot from them!
My grandfather was born in Nairobi (though not African) so on a personal level I find your experience really interesting. Possibly where he picked up the tea drinking habit, too 😅
Thanks Zenobia. It's really good to see their efforts on waste, but it's still a struggle, as a lot of people can't afford waste collection and there's still a lot of waste produced. I'm working on an article about it now.

Thanks Eric, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Love your posts even if it’s a drive by. Wonderful news about water bottles. Enjoy the conference.
Thank you. It is a good news story.

Thanks, yes, it's going really well. I'm doing three interviews with interesting Kenyans for future articles today.
Great pictures! That acacia tree and its spines are impressive. Thanks for taking the time to share pictures with us!
Thanks Heather. More to come.
